Interconnection & commissioning · ERCOT

Manage your ERCOT interconnection. Organize every commissioning checklist.

Grid Intercon tracks FIS, QSA, and SGIA milestones across generation and large load projects alike, scores risk every night, and organizes the full ERCOT commissioning checklist — Parts 1 through 3 — so nothing slips between energization and Commercial Operation Date.

01 · Why teams switch

The queue doesn't forgive a missed date.

These are the conditions that turn a project Red in the risk engine. Not generic project-management logic — ERCOT's own clock.

Red — critical
FIS not started within 45 days of Screening Study completion
ERCOT's 45-day target doesn't send you a reminder. Tracked in a shared spreadsheet, it's the kind of date that passes quietly.
Red — critical
IA not executed within 180 days of FIS delivery
The 180-day negotiation limit is one of the hardest dates in Stage 1. Grid Intercon flags it the moment the FIS report lands.
Amber — at risk
QSA Planning RIOO not approved before the quarterly cutoff
The Quarterly Stability Assessment sets your synchronization window, and its RIOO deadline is a fixed calendar date — Aug 1 for a Jan–Mar sync, Nov 1 for Apr–Jun. Miss it and synchronization moves a full quarter.
Amber — at risk
Commissioning Checklist Parts 1–3 tracked in email threads
ERCOT's own checklist tells you to track progress against it. Most teams do that in a shared inbox — not in a system built for the job.
02 · What it does

Built for the ERCOT queue. Nothing else.

No generic boards to configure. Grid Intercon ships pre-loaded with ERCOT's own milestone structure and thresholds — from Screening Study through commissioning and Commercial Operation Date.

01

Portfolio dashboard

Generation and large load on one screen, sorted Red-first. On Track / At Risk / Delayed counts, next deadline, and a mobile-ready read-only view for execs.

02

Commissioning checklist management

We organize the full ERCOT New Generator Commissioning Checklist — Parts 1 through 3 — plus the Commissioning Plan, AVR/PFR and reactive capability testing, and PUCT registration, in one system of record instead of an email thread.

03

Risk engine

Every project rescored Green, Amber, or Red overnight against ERCOT's real deadlines — with a full audit trail of what changed and why.

04

Deadline alerts

Automatic emails at 90, 60, 30, 14, and 7 days before every hard deadline, escalation on a miss, and an in-app bell your team actually checks.

05

Milestone timeline

46 ERCOT milestone templates, pulled straight from the DOR registration spreadsheet, laid out as a Gantt view against your target COD.

06

Document vault & ERCOT log

PSSE models, RIOO submissions, and SGIA filings linked to the milestone they belong to — plus a log formatted to mirror ERCOT's own coordination log.

07

One-click reporting

Branded PDF and Excel exports per project or full portfolio, on demand or scheduled weekly — the report your client already expects.

03 · Provenance

What it's actually built on.

Every milestone, threshold, and checklist traces back to an ERCOT source document — not to a generic project-management template.

46 Milestone templates Seeded directly from ERCOT's FIS/QSA Registration DOR workbook, stage by stage.
Parts 1–3 Commissioning checklist Request to Commission POI, Initial Synchronization, and Begin Commercial Operations, tracked natively.
Nightly Risk re-scoring Every active project, every night, with a dated history of every level change and the rule behind it.
Per-org Data isolation US-hosted, row-level separation between organizations, with per-organization document storage.
04 · Who builds it

Built by a team that's lived inside the queue.

Across their prior roles, our team has taken more than 3 GW of generation through ERCOT's interconnection process, and roughly 2 GW more through CAISO, SPP, and MISO. We have sat through the meetings, chased the signatures, and watched a filing window close on a Friday afternoon.

That's why the thresholds in the risk engine trace to ERCOT's published deadlines and the DOR workbook rather than to a generic project-management template.

06 · Questions

Before you start the clock

Do I need a credit card to start?
No. Create your account and you're tracking your queue in minutes. Nothing is charged until you choose to subscribe after the trial.
What happens after the 14-day trial?
You pick a plan, or your account pauses. Your data is kept for 30 days so you can export it or pick up where you left off. No surprise charges — we never asked for a card in the first place.
Which ERCOT processes does Grid Intercon track?
For generation: Screening Study, FIS, the Quarterly Stability Assessment, RIOO-IS submissions, and SGIA execution through Stage 3 commissioning — the New Generator Commissioning Checklist, AVR/PFR and reactive capability testing, PUCT registration, and Commercial Operation Date. For large load, the PGRR145 process through energization. Generation milestones are seeded from ERCOT's own DOR registration workbook.
Can a consulting firm manage several clients' portfolios?
Yes. Role-based access keeps each client's organization isolated while giving your consultants one unified view across every engagement.
How is this different from the free ERCOT queue dashboards?
Public trackers show you ERCOT's queue data. Grid Intercon is your side of it: your milestones, your documents, your deadlines, your team's assignments, and an audit trail of what changed. The free dashboards tell you what ERCOT published. This tells you what your team owes ERCOT next week.
Do you cover large load (data center) interconnection?
Yes. Large load runs a separate ERCOT process under PGRR145, but the shape is the same one we already manage: staged studies, modeling submissions, and an energization approval gated by hard calendar dates. Grid Intercon tracks large load projects alongside generation in a single portfolio — so a developer running both sees one queue, not two systems.
What happens when ERCOT changes the process?
It changes constantly — fast-track interconnection criteria and new PGRRs are live issues right now. We review protocol revisions and aim to update the milestone templates and risk thresholds centrally, so your projects inherit a change instead of you re-editing a spreadsheet.
Is my portfolio data isolated from other organizations?
Every organization's data is isolated at the database level, with row-level separation and per-organization document storage on US-hosted infrastructure. No shared queues, no cross-tenant visibility. For formal security review, ask us for our current data-handling summary.

Your next ERCOT deadline isn't waiting for Q3.
